Professional microcement application in progress
How We Work

Microcement Installation Process

From your first call to the final reveal, we ensure a smooth, professional experience every step of the way.

1
Step One

Initial Project Review

Start by sharing the project location, photos, approximate dimensions, current surface, room use, timing, and desired finish. The first review identifies what information or site checks are needed before a scope can be prepared.

2
Step Two

Detailed Quote

When the project is suitable to price, the written quote outlines the accepted scope, assumptions, exclusions, preparation responsibilities, timing, and the finish direction being priced.

3
Step Three

Surface Preparation

Preparation follows the accepted system and substrate condition. Cleaning, repairs, movement treatment, reinforcement, priming, and other steps are documented in the scope; unsuitable or unstable surfaces may require work by another trade.

  • Surface cleaning & degreasing
  • Crack & damage repair
  • Primer application
4
Step Four

Microcement Application

The selected system determines the number of coats, tools, sanding or refinement steps, thickness, texture, cure windows, and environmental conditions. Hand application creates natural variation within the approved sample direction.

5
Step Five

Sealing & Protection

The approved system determines the sealer, number of coats, cure time, maintenance limits, and when the surface can return to use. Wet-area performance also depends on the underlying assembly and responsibilities defined in the scope.

  • Sealer matched to the accepted use
  • Stain resistance
  • UV protection
6
Step Six

Final Inspection & Care Guide

The final walkthrough records the completed scope, visible finish, care instructions, cure restrictions, and any items that still need attention. Product-specific maintenance guidance is provided for the accepted system.

What makes a project ready to review

A useful microcement quote depends on the surface and surrounding trades as much as the visible finish. Before pricing, Coastal Cement Studio reviews the location, photos, measurements, current substrate, moisture or movement concerns, room use, access, schedule, and desired colour or texture direction.
